Electoral College Vote Predictor

Check out electoral-vote.com. It's a preduction of the upcoming US Presidential election, updated daily. I assume the guy uses reasonable data rather than just making stuff up. Its current prediction is as follows:
Looks like it didn't work

While we're at it, for a completely different take on the election, check out the "Mock Election" results at Dave Leip's uselectionatlas.org.

We shall see. The way I look at it, in order to expect to win, Bush has to expect to do better than he did in '00, since he did come in second place in the nationwide popular vote.
So...,

1) Will people that didn't vote for Bush in '00 have been impressed by his leadership and will be voting for him this time?

2) The inverse of 1: How many people that voted for him in '00 won't vote for him in '04?

3) Is Kerry a weaker or stronger candidate than Gore was? In '00, we heard a lot of claims that Gore was a very weak candidate (and some of the same claims about Bush). I don't notice as many independents this year thinking of Kerry as a weak choice.

All-in-all, I'm surprised it is so close so far, and I expect Bush to gain ground after the Republican convention.

Badnarik '04!  :-)
